Bird’s Ashes and Feather Memorial Charm

Bird’s family sent me a small amount of her ashes and one pale feather. I used both in a sterling silver heart charm.

Preserving Bird’s ashes and feather

Bird’s charm has a warm amber centre chosen to complement the natural colour of her feather. Small pieces of ash remain visible, with fine feather fibres running through the amber centre.

I arranged the ashes and feather fibres by hand before sealing the setting.

The charm was intended as a birthday present, so I upgraded the delivery to help it arrive in time.

After receiving it, Bird’s family wrote:

“Our daughter loved and was very touched by her charm. So thank you again.”

I can make pet memorial jewellery for chickens and other birds as well as cats, dogs and horses. Fine sections of feather can often be set alongside ashes, and the pattern will differ in every piece.
