Permanent Jewellery Booking and Repair FAQs
Answers about booking permanent jewellery at Featherlings in Portsmouth.
Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability. Booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. Book a permanent jewellery appointment.
What does the £25 booking payment cover?
The £25 payment is a deposit deducted from your total jewellery purchase on the day. It is not an extra charge. For example, a £59 sterling silver bracelet leaves £34 to pay after your deposit.
How much does permanent jewellery cost?
- Bracelets: sterling silver £59; gold or rose gold £79.
- Anklets: sterling silver £69; gold or rose gold £89.
- Necklaces: sterling silver £89; gold or rose gold £109.
- Welded rings: sterling silver £25; gold or rose gold £40.
- Charms: £19 or £29. Optional clasps: £10 or £15.
Two sterling silver permanent bracelets are £99. Your final total depends on the jewellery and additions you choose. The £25 booking deposit comes off that total.
Can two or more people share an appointment?
Yes. One appointment covers up to three people, with one £25 booking deposit. For four or more people, book one slot and contact me afterwards with the group size.
How do I book with a Virgin Experience Days voucher?
If you already have a voucher for the Permanent Welded Jewellery Experience for Two, use the Virgin Experience booking page. Choose one appointment for both participants. There is no additional booking deposit. Bring your valid voucher details with you. Check the voucher booking page for its conditions and what is included.
Can permanent jewellery be removed and put back on?
Yes. It can be cut at the joining point with scissors or cutters, then brought back for re-welding where practical. If you are unsure where to cut, contact me first. A clasp can be added if you want removable jewellery.
My permanent bracelet has snapped. What does a repair cost?
Repairs and re-welding are free for permanent jewellery originally fitted at Featherlings. This permanent jewellery repair service is separate from the general workmanship warranty: you do not need to prove an original manufacturing fault to receive a free repair or re-weld. For permanent jewellery fitted elsewhere, the repair or re-welding fee is £15. Book a repair appointment and bring your jewellery with you. Jewellery that has broken and gone missing is not covered.
What is the minimum age for permanent jewellery?
Standard Featherlings permanent jewellery appointments are available from age 13. Anyone under 18 must attend with a parent or legal guardian who gives consent. Please check school and sports rules before booking. A clasp can be added if the jewellery needs to be removable.
Virgin Experience Days voucher bookings have a separate minimum age of 16 under the voucher terms. Anyone aged 16–17 must be accompanied by an adult.
